What we collect
- Account: your name, email address and profile photo from Google or Apple sign-in.
- Profile: the answers you give during setup, such as your goal, age, height, weight, activity level, eating pattern and food preferences.
- Meals: the photos, voice notes and text you use to log meals, the nutrition estimates made from them, and any edits you make.
- Dia Coach: the messages you send to Dia and its replies.
- Activity: steps, active calories and weight, only if you connect Health Connect or Apple Health.
- Reminders: a push notification token for your device, your reminder settings and your time zone.
- Subscriptions: which plan you have and when it renews, as reported by the store. We never receive your card details.
- Waitlist: your email address and which page or campaign you came from, if you join the waitlist on this website.
- Website visits: the pages you view, the main buttons you use, the ad or link that brought you here, and, if you accept cookies, analytics and advertising cookie ids. See Analytics, cookies and ads.
- Support: what you write to us when you email support.
How we use it
To estimate nutrition, set and track your targets, show insights, power Dia Coach, send the reminders you turn on, manage your subscription, keep the service secure and working, and invite you when your waitlist spot opens.
Dia offers general wellness guidance. It never diagnoses, prescribes or calculates medication or insulin doses.
We use your information only to provide DiaLens. We do not use it for advertising and we do not sell it. We share it only with service providers that run parts of DiaLens for us under contract: hosting and storage, sign-in, AI processing of meals and Dia Coach chats, notifications, subscriptions and billing, analytics and, if you accept cookies on this website, ad measurement. Some of them process data outside your country, including in the United States. [INTERNATIONAL TRANSFER SAFEGUARDS]. Health data
Data from Health Connect and Apple Health is read only with your permission, only for the types you allow (steps, active calories and weight), and only to show your activity and tailor Dia’s suggestions. It is never used for advertising, never sold, and never shared except with the processors above to run the app. You can turn access off at any time in Health Connect, in Apple Health, or in the app.
DiaLens’s use of information received from Health Connect follows the Health Connect permissions policy, including its limited-use requirements.
Analytics, cookies and ads
In the app
We count how features are used (for example, that a meal was logged by photo) and collect crash reports, under a random account id. Analytics never include your name, email, meals, photos, voice, health values or messages. We do not collect your location: the app turns off IP-based location and the IP address itself is dropped.
On this website
When you first visit, we ask whether you accept cookies. Until you choose, and if you decline, we only count page views and clicks on the main buttons without cookies or any storage on your device, with a new anonymous id on every page load.
If you accept, our analytics provider sets cookies so we can recognise a returning visit and see which ad or link brought you here, and our advertising partner’s measurement tag loads so we can measure our ads. When you join the waitlist, we tell that partner a sign-up happened (from your browser and from our server), with your IP address, browser details and its own cookie ids. We never send your email address or anything about your health, and we do not record your screen.
You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page; declining removes the analytics and advertising cookies.
Keeping and deleting
- Photos you take but do not save with a meal are deleted within about an hour.
- Voice recordings are deleted within about 15 minutes; only the text of what you said is kept with the meal.
- Photos you save with a meal are kept with that meal until you delete the meal or your account.
- Dia Coach conversations are kept for 90 days.
- Everything else is kept while your account is active.
When you delete your account, we delete your data within [X] days, except billing records the law requires us to keep. Waitlist emails are deleted when you ask, or [WAITLIST RETENTION] after launch if you have not created an account. How to delete your account.
Your choices
You can see and correct your profile and meals in the app, turn reminders off, and withdraw health permissions at any time. You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or to delete it, by emailing support@dialensai.app. Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to object to or restrict processing and to complain to your data protection authority.
Age limit
DiaLens is not intended for anyone under 16, and the app does not accept a younger age during setup.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect.
